This installation is number 16 in a series of site spesific "live photo" project's. Earlier presented in Gallery 7011 in Trondheim, Gallery K and Torpedo bookstore in Oslo, among others.
Crispin Gurholt direct live models in his "live photo" projects. The models is directed with make up according to theme by stylists, and are thereafter frozen in a so called photographic moment for a limited time, normally two hours, with only short breaks. The installation is documented along the way with photo and video. In that way, Gurholt's "Live Photo" is in the intersection between installation, performance, photo and video.
The theme for the installation in the Vigeland Museum is a live photo shoot with act models. In the room we will see a male photographer with a young male as an assistant, a female stylist and two female act models. The room will be decorated as an ordinary photo shoot on location.
The installation takes place in the Vigeland Museum's room number 5, next to original plaster models of Henrik Wergeland, Camilla Collett and Richard Nordraak. The project is not directly connected with Vigeland, but it refers to both the artist and the museum building, along with other art historic references.
