Barbara Czapran and Inge van der Drift - Construction Site
17 November 2006 - 18 February 2007
The Vigeland Museum, both as edifice and space, is the starting point for Barbara Czapran and Inge van der Drift in this exhibition, entitled Construction Site.
The exhibition consists of various installations and objects, and the common denominator is subtlety and fragility. The artists have constructed and haped the objects by gluing matches together, one by one, and the result is, for instance, large, carpet-like works.
The objects made of burnt matches and cardboard are contrasting the massive and, to a certain extent, monumental sculptures of Gustav Vigeland, and also the monumental character of the museum.
